| I am originally from Tokyo but after my university student days in Sapporo, Hokkaido I chose to live in a quaint port city of Otaru working for Otaru City Hall for 34 years. As a student I majored animal behavioral science and had direct contacts with Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido in the research field. At the city hall I worked as the director of city museum for three years which gave me the chance to meet curators of various fields in Hokkaido. I love mountain climbing, cross country skiing and used to be an avid triathlete in my younger days. | ||||||||
